Getting your yard ready for spring

Spring is just around the corner! As a homeowner it's time to start preparing your lawn for the season. Here are some tips to get you started:

Clean up debris: Remove any leaves, sticks, or other debris that may have accumulated on your lawn over the winter months. This will help your grass breathe and grow.

Aerate: If you haven’t aerated your lawn last fall then you should consider it this spring. Aeration helps to loosen compacted soil and improve air, water, and nutrient flow to the roots of your grass. Consider using a garden fork or renting an aerator to help with this process.

Fertilize: Fertilize your lawn with a balanced fertilizer to give your grass the nutrients it needs to grow. You can also consider using a slow-release fertilizer for longer-lasting results.

Mow regularly: Regular mowing helps to remove dead grass and promote new growth. Make sure to mow your lawn at the proper height to encourage healthy growth.

Water deeply: In the spring, grass needs to be watered deeply to encourage strong root growth. Consider watering your lawn early in the morning or late in the evening to avoid evaporation.

By following these tips, you'll be well on your way to having a beautiful, healthy lawn in this spring! Happy lawn prep.
